Members of the U.S.A. Martial Arts Training Center traveled to St Albans, WV on February 13th to participate in the U S A National Karatedo Qualifier. All nine members of the team qualified for the U.S.A. National Karate Do Championships held in Pittsburg, PA in July of this year. Kobe Strader won Gold in forms while Kaitlyn Strader won Bronzes in forms, fighting, and weapons. Cole Murphy won Bronze in fighting. Greg and Hank Phillips both won Bronze in fighting. Ryan Hamner and Adler Masterman also qualified but did not medal at the event. Mayuko Domoto, an exchange Student from Japan attending Lewis Co. High School won Bronze in fighting. Also qualifying in swordsmanship at the event was Ethan Galicic who won gold and his sister Savannah who won Bronze. The team will be seeking sponsors and donations to help with the cost of participation in this National event. Look for us at the Rampburger Feast at Shop N Save scheduled for April of this year. We will be selling pop and demonstrating Karate throughout the day.
